Flowers & Gifts
Wesley Charles Haas, 82, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018. Born in Joliet, Illinois on September 1, 1936 to Walter and Florence (Cutler) Haas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol Ann Haas (Green); daughter Kristen (Brad) Brown; sons Dr. Brian (Patricia) Haas; Steven (Kristine) Haas, sister Betty Cleveland and six grandchildren: Austin Brown, Paige (Brown) Moeller, Colin Haas, Rachael Haas, Addison Haas, Easton Haas.
Wes graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1954 and from the University of Illinois in 1960. Wes was in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1958.
Prior to moving to Florida, Wes and Carol lived in Plainfield, Illinois. Wes was the Director of the Educational Data Center in Lockport, Illinois. While living in Plainfield, Wes was the President of the Plainfield’s Lions Club and also was the Treasurer of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Joliet, Illinois.
Wes and Carol retired to Florida in 2005. He loved the Lord and his Church, Trinity Lutheran, and was President of the Men’s Club and an elder. He was an avid golfer with three holes-in-one and loved playing with his friends at Spruce Creek Country Club, with his purple golf cart of course.
Wes was a devoted husband to Carol. He loved his family and always made time for his kids and grandchildren. There was rarely a moment Wes missed when it came to his family. We will miss his smile but he will always be remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church 17330 US-441, Summerfield, FL 34491 with Pastor Dan Klem officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Men’s Club, Summerfield, FL.
