Artie Ann Young gained her heavenly wings on October 5, 2022.  She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on September 13, 1943 a daughter to the late Wayne and Condlee Maynard Runyon.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two sisters Nancy Lee Runyon, Melba K. Brooks and a brother George V. Runyon.


Artie was a long time employee at First Baptist Church of Ocala where she cooked for the daycare and preschool children.  She so loved what she did for the children that she never thought of it as a job.


Artie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ralph Young, and her sister who sang her to heaven, Mary Karene (Donnie) Weddington.  Artie was never able to have children of her own, however she became a second mom to many of her nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, nieces include Connie M Hopper, Tracie K Wickersham, Kathleen Wickersham, Lisa McCallister, Christy Runyon, Tammy Berbel, Jennifer Brooks, and Elizabeth Brooks, and nephews, Jeffrey Wayne Worley, William Hopper, Robert V. Brooks, Dennis Young, Toby Young, and Josh Runyon.

A private service will be held at a later date.


Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home.
