Burnice Grant

Burnice “Bunny” Brazell Grant, age 95, of Anthony, Florida passed away on April 3, 2024 at

home. She was born July 13, 1928 in Anthony, Florida the middle daughter to the late Willis and

Leila (Eleazer) Brazell. In addition to her parents she was also preceded by her husband,

William “Bill” Grant, and her sister, Virginia Culpepper. After graduating from Ocala High School,

she went on to earn her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Florida. She

became an elementary school teacher and then one of the first female principals for the Marion

County School District. Bunny was a life-long active member of the Anthony Methodist Church

and a former member and president of the Anthony Woman’s Club. In her free time she enjoyed

traveling around the world, volunteering, gardening, fishing, and watercolor painting. She leaves

behind to cherish her memory her sister, Colleen Mitchell; sister in laws, Cecelia Wright and

Alice Kimmons; nephews, Carey Culpepper, Lloyd Mitchell and his wife, Maria Mitchell, John

Mitchell and his wife, Alisa Mitchell; grandniece, Hollan “Holly” Mitchell; grandnephews,

Christopher Culpepper, Zachary Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell and many beloved friends. A

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Anthony Methodist

Church. Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
