Daniel “Dan” Downs, 73 passed away October 19, 2016. Born December 16, 1942 in Marion, Indiana to Bernard and Lucille R. Downs. Dan has been a Levy County resident for the last 11 years.
Dan taught Middle/High school for 45 years. After retiring from teaching, he continued working part-time at Lowe’s. He enjoyed working outside, woodworking, riding motorcycles, golfing, riding his bicycle and loved to sing. Dan was baptized at a young age, and never wavered in his faith. Dan was a faithful member of the Central Church of Christ in Ocala, Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Downs; children, Terry Downs (Cyndi), Don Downs (Vonda), Dan Downs (Kristin), Lori Osborne, Kevin West (Toni), Scott West (Cheryl); twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson; and siblings, Carolyn, Joe, Virginia, Margaret and Judy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, and sisters, Cheryl and Susan.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Central Church of Christ, 4200 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, Florida 34470.
