Danny Ray James, Jr.

Danny Ray James, Sr., age 81, of Fairfield, Florida, passed away on January 14, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1944, in Live Oak, Florida, a son of George and Milfred James.

Danny was self-employed as a refrigeration and air conditioning technician for over 65 years, a trade he took great pride in and one through which he faithfully served his community. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a cherished Papa whom his grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey James, and his grandson, Kyle James.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Janice James; sons, Danny James II and Larry James; brother, Jimbo Knighten; sisters, Elaine Knighten and Linda Knighten; grandchildren, Christopher, Brittney, Missty, Danny III, Casey, Logan, and Savannah; and great-grandchildren, Abel and Vaida (Christopher), Wyatt, Cora, Ella, and Lane (Brittney), Marlee and Preslee (Missty), Molly, Willa, and Gibson (Danny III), Maci and Trent (Casey), Tru and Taus (Savannah), and one baby girl on the way (Logan).

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairfield Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
