Ocala - David Cornelius Alger, 86, passed away on December 23, 2019, in Ocala, Florida. He was born on July 6, 1933 in Fireworks Branch, Illinois to Tellie and Mattie Alger. David moved to Ocala in 1980. David was a carpenter and enjoyed deep sea fishing.

He is preceded by his loving wife, Patsy Ann Alger (Spidell); father, Tellie; mother, Mattie; son David Alger Jr.; brother, Ford Alger; sisters, Betty Stark, Janey Utley, Ruth Alger.

He is survived by his daughters, Laura Bronson of Daytona Beach, Kathie Alger of Deland, Susan Alger-Salsberry (Edward), Rhonda Alger, and Jackie Alger (Pete Smith) of Ocala; son, Jeffery Alger of New Paris, Ohio; sister, Pat Jordan of Troy, Il; 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on February 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
