Edgar Douglas LaFountain, 58, passed away on July 25, 2026, in Ft. McCoy, Florida. Born on January 17, 1968, he was the son of Edgar Douglas LaFountain, Jr. and Carolanne LaFountain.
Edgar devoted 18 years to serving as Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mexico Beach, where his ministry touched countless lives. After relocating to Ft. McCoy, he continued to serve his community with the same compassion, humility, and dedication that defined his life’s work. To his wife Josie, he was truly a man after God’s own heart.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Douglas LaFountain, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Carolanne LaFountain; his wife, Josie LaFountain; his son, Edgar Douglas LaFountain IV; and his brother, Ivan Douglas LaFountain.
Countryside has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
