Edith Christine Slaughter Thomason

Edith Christine Slaughter Thomason, age 83, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on October 14, 2026. She was born on January 5, 1943 in High Springs, Florida, a daughter of Frank and Allie Rae Polk.

She was preceded in death by: husbands; George Slaughter and James Thomason, son; William “Frankie” Slaughter, brother; Ray Polk, and parents; Frank and Allie Rae and step-father; Conrad Taney.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: sons; Scott C. Slaughter and James Odis Thomason, daughters; Leslie Slaughter Dalton and Kerry Slaughter Russell, brother; Oscar Steve Polk, grandchildren; Eddie, Tasha, Charles, Allie, Scott, Kyle, Hayden, Harlen, twelve great grandchildren and many cherished family and life-long friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home. Visitation will take place an hour prior starting at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery located in Trenton Florida.
