Fr. Joseph Spena

Father H. Joseph Spena, 75, died on February 7, 2022 with family and friends present. He was born in Moorestown, NJ and served in the USMC. Joe was a paramedic in Philadelphia for 23 years and later a vascular technologist at Deborah Heart & Lung Center until retiring. In 2018, Joe was ordained an Anglican Catholic Priest.

He is preceded by his parents and brothers, Robert & David.

Fr. Joe loved God, family, animals, antique vehicles and was a member of the Steudebaker’s drivers club.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Eileen (Sankey) Spena; sister in law, Dr. Mary Ann Callen; nephews, Robert (Deb) Spena and Patrick (Melissa) Callen; nieces, Ann Wiley, Colleen (Sean) Powell, Erin, Mary Kate, Meaghan and Dr. Anne (Jake) Callen; family friends the Capewell family and Upton family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. George Anglican Cathedral in Ocala beginning at 10:15 a.m. with a Memorial Mass immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name  to your charity of choice or tunnel2towers.org or St.Jude Children’s Hospital.
