Gary Alan Dosey

Gary Alan Dosey, 78, of Salt Springs, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026. Born on June 3, 1948, in Hillsdale, Michigan, to Hope and Leon Dosey, Gary lived a life marked by strong Christian values, quiet integrity, and straightforward honesty.

After earning his master’s degree in psychology, Gary devoted his career to education, eventually retiring from teaching in the correctional system. Faith was central to his life; he was active in church and found great community as a member of the local Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA). An avid outdoorsman and lifelong learner, Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, archery, and marksmanship. In quieter moments, he appreciated music, reading, photography, billiards, and watching movies with those he loved. Above all, he was devoted to his family and his faith.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Hope Dosey, and his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Dosey.

His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 49 years, Cheryl Cox Dosey; his sons, Gary William, Glen (Jennifer), Michael (Mariola), and David; and his eleven grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary (Jayla), Amanda, Victoria (Steven) Bronzi, Lily, Katherine, David Andrew, Hannah, Lydia, Micah, and Sofia.

A memorial service celebrating Gary’s life will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, FL.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, and love, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
