George Conway Eatmon, Jr., age 85, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on May 17, 2026. He was born on August 25, 1940 in Ocala, Florida a son of George and Inez Eatmon.
He is preceded by his parents George and Inez Eatmon and two brothers, David Eatmon and Michael Eatmon.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Janice Guinn Eatmon; son, Scott Conway Eatmon; daughters, Tammy Lynne Sherouse and Terry Eatmon Stewart; brother, Steve Eatmon; sister, Barbara Eatmon; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
George and Janice were married on February 6, 1960 in Ocala. George started his career at Swift's in the accounting dept, but soon, George and Janice purchased Tas- t-o Donuts, which became an Ocala icon on Silver Springs Blvd. The entire family was involved in the donut shop, which usually started with George going in every night around 7pm, and working thru the night and into the following morning. George and Janice sold the donut shop and retired in 2004, and enjoyed many years together. George also owned and operated George's Woodpile making beautiful wood scrollwork, some with Bible verses, some honoring our service men and women, wood Christmas trees, and many other beautiful pieces. George and Janice also opened Monograms by Janice on the Boulevard, which was successful for many years. George and Scott also partnered up at M & C Assemblies
George loved to travel and they took many trips out West, to Hawaii,Alaska, and to their beloved mountains in North Carolina.
George also spent years as a coach for the Tas-t-o Tiger little league baseball team at Oakcrest. George was baptised at Second Baptist Church, which was later known as Wyomina Park Baptist Church, where he was a member for many years. They moved to First Baptist Church of Ocala, where he was ordained as a Deacon, and is a current member of Unity Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Unity Baptist Church with a visitation an hour prior at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
