George Cecil Hogan

George (Cecil) Hogan, age 87, of Ocklawaha, Florida, passed away on March 24, 2026. He was born on April 12, 1938 in San Francisco, California. He was a son of Army Master Sergeant Odess Hogan and Leona Barnett Hogan. He was raised in Ocala, Florida from age 3.

Mr. Hogan was a surveyor most of his life and worked all over the state of Florida. After 20 years spent surveying with the City of Ocala Mr. Hogan retired in 2002.

As a true outdoorsman, Cecil enjoyed seeing the sun rise on a lake while fishing. Nothing got him more excited than finding a fresh set of deer tracks in the morning while hunting. He loved watching any Gator sports. Most of all he treasured spending time with his family. He was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 67 years, Joan Thompson Hogan; sons, Johnnie Cecil Hogan and Kevin George Hogan (Denise); brothers, Vincent Hogan and Charles Leon Hogan (Kathy); seven grandchildren and seven great grand children and lots of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church 327 N. Hwy 314A, Silver Springs, FL 34488
