Helen Modene Blocker, age 88, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025. Born on August 5, 1936, in Cash, Arkansas, she was the beloved daughter of Monnie and Charlie Raynes.
Modene was a loving mother, a devoted and loyal wife, a supportive daughter and sister, and a cherished grandmother and great grandmother. She poured her heart into her family, always placing their needs above her own with grace and strength. Her unwavering love for her husband of 40 years was an enduring testament to her deep and abiding commitment to those she held dear.
Modene found enjoyment in simple pleasures-rug hooking, weekly bowling league games, and sharing fellowship with dear friends during Bible study. Her laugh—warm, joyful, and contagious—will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to hear it.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her husband Randy Blocker; her children, Michael O’Guin (Elizabeth), Kelley Varner (Joe), Pamela Varney (Earl), and Diane Martin; her sister, Marguerite Henson; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her children Marcus O’Guinn, Pamela Taylor, and Kimberly Ann Shriver, whose memories she carried with her every day.
Modene’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her love, laughter, and gentle wisdom will continue to guide and comfort those she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 15, 2025 at 11:00 at The Central Church of Christ. Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
