RYALS, Imogene "Gene"
Mrs. Imogene "Gene" Ryals passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017 at age 90. Gene was born in Reddick, Florida to Owen Glen and Clara Nell Johnson. She was employed as a salesperson for almost 40 years at Koontz Furniture Company in Ocala Florida. She enjoyed music, dancing, reading, poetry, flower arranging and was an avid gardener. She liked helping others and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by her husband George Lamar Ryals.
She leaves behind her sons, Stephen L. Ryals & George K. Ryals; daughters in law, Jane Ryals & Shila Patel; sister, Margaret Stephenson; five grandchildren, Shane Ryals, S. Brett Ryals, Michael Ryals, Claire Lancaster, and Gabriel Ryals; and six great grandchildren.
The immediate family held an old fashion wake to celebrate Gene's life at her home on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gene's favorite charity, St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
