James Hannigan

James "Jimmy" Michael Hannigan, age 53, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at his home in Gainesville, FL on Monday, February 7, 2022. James was born on April 22, 1968 in Hollywood, FL to Ronald and Lois (Turchioe) Hannigan. James worked for the Village of Tuckahoe Police Department in New York and the City of Ocala, Florida. He was a loving father and son, and a great friend to many. His ability to make everyone around him laugh will live on in the memories of everyone who ever crossed his path. He was a man of many talents and was the one everyone called on if they needed something fixed.

James is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Hannigan, and his sister, Dorothy Egert (Hannigan).

James is survived by his mother Lois Turchioe, brother Shawn Hannigan, sister Alicia Preiss (David), former wife Helen Hannigan (Murphy), daughter Hillary Hannigan (Robert), son, James John "JJ" Hannigan, granddaughter, Isabella Hannigan, nieces and nephews Daniel, Alexandra, Tristan, Brian, Chelsea, and Jude Michael, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Service will be held at Countryside Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to greggrahamfoundation.org
