SIGMON, James D.
Ocala – James D. Sigmon, 81, passed away May 31, 2016 at Hospice Legacy House. Born April 6, 1935 in West Virginia, to Harry Sand LaVerna Young Sigmon. He was a Commodore of the United States Coast Guard and worked for the Marion County Jail as a Corrections Officer. James enjoyed fishing and sang with the Chapman Quartet. He received the Governor's Award from the Sherriff's Department.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Sigmon; brother, Darius Sigmon (Shirley) and a niece Kelly. He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma L. Sigmon and parents.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016 at Countryside Funeral Home, with Pastor David Chaffin officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala.
