Jean Crooks Arnold

It is hard to believe that just over a year and a half ago, our sweet Mom celebrated her 100th birthday.

Early Monday morning, July 20, 2026, she quietly went home to be with Jesus. Our road-running Momma, affectionately known as "Road Run Jean," finished her journey here on earth and is now safely home with her Savior.

Jean Crooks Arnold, age 101, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. She was born on January 9, 1925, in Alpena, Michigan, to Leo and Malinda Leora Crooks.

Mom lived a full and meaningful life. Over the years she taught school, worked in a bottling plant, and later as a sales associate at Sears. But if you asked her, her greatest joy was being a wife, a mom, grandma, great-grandma and caring for her family.

She met the love of her life, Bob, while out bowling with friends. That chance meeting grew into a wonderful marriage filled with love, laughter, and a lifetime of memories.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. Jean was a proud and devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 43 years. Demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to her fraternal community, she held Plural Memberships in Tavares, Mount Dora & Leesburg Chapters in Florida. Her decades of service, charity, and fellowship leave an enduring legacy among her Eastern Star sisters and brothers.

A woman who kept the roads hot and the community connected. From Florida to Michigan, church pews to bowling lanes, she spent her life in service to others—running errands, helping the elderly, and driving anyone in need. Her journey may have ended, but her legacy of love keeps moving forward.

She is preceded by: Husband Robert (Bob) Arnold, Her parents Leo & Malinda Leora Crooks, Sister Ethyle Kirkendall (Arnon), and son in law, Jim Russell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: Carol Russell, Larry David Arnold, Gloria Pennebaker (Gary), William Arnold (Cynthia) Jeffrey Arnold, and Roberta Jones (Michael).
