Jerry Franklin Fairchild

Jerry Franklin Fairchild, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by his family on July 23, 2026 in Silver Springs, Florida. He was born February 12, 1942 to Frank and Evelyn Fairchild in Petal, Mississippi. He and his family moved to Marion County in 1945. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1960 to 1962. He began his long-term career at Ring Power Corporation in 1964 as a heavy equipment mechanic and retired 38 years later as a service manager. He was also a dedicated deacon at the First Baptist Church of Silver Springs. He enjoyed restoring old cars, relaxing at his cabin in the North Georgia mountains, spending time with family and friends, raising cattle, farming and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; twin brother, Gary Fairchild, and sister Barbara Clark. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kathryn Fairchild; Son Jerry "Frank" Fairchild II (Joanna); daughter, Vicki Williams (Ronnie); grandchildren, Rachel Preston (Ryan), Jerry F. Fairchild III (Sally), Rebecca Buell (Zak) and Hunter Carrico (Thomas); great grandchildren, Blair Carrico, Landon Preston, Reese Carrico, Josie Carrico, Avery Buell, Blakely Preston and Adley Buell; brother, John Fairchild (Debbie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, July 27, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Silver Springs. 

A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
