Joan Washburn

Citra - Joan E. Washburn passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, FL on November 10, 2015. Born in the Bronx, New York on January 8, 1934 but raised in Fairhope, AL, Joan wa a cashier, daycare worker, maitre d and homemaker. She loved her family, friends, taking care of her flowers and her crazy cat "Tilley". She is preceded in death by her beloved husband George M. Washburn of 59 years. She is survived by her five children: Deborah (Don) Daniels of Fort Walton Beach, F, Jane Cook of Madisonville, TN, Kathleen Dan Brown of Gainesville, FL, Clint (Ginger) Washburn of Citra, FL and Steve Washburn of Micanopy, FL. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Joan was a devoted wife and mother who will be deeply missed, but is in the loving memory of her savior. A private memorial service will be held a later date following her cremation.
