Kathy Marie Calabria

Kathy Marie Calabria, aged 76, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Silver Springs, FL after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Born on July 26, 1950 in Syracuse, NY, Kathy spent her formative years there before embarking on a life filled with laughter, love, and service in Florida.

Kathy was a high school graduate of St. Lucy's Academy in Syracuse, NY. She furthered her education in Florida at Broward Community College, earning an Associate of Arts degree, and then continuing on at Florida Atlantic University earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She began her career as a dental hygienist in Syracuse, NY with training at Onondaga County Community College, and she later transitioned to working for the City of Tamarac, Florida where she managed pension benefits. Her professional life was marked by a commitment to helping others, a trait that defined her personal life as well.

Known for her hilarious sense of humor and big heart, Kathy was an adoring mother, sister, aunt, partner, and friend. She shared around 40 wonderful years with her partner, Rick Jones, building a cherished life together in Florida. Kathy had a profound love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, and was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her hobbies included traveling, exploring museums, cooking new recipes she found, and gardening.

Kathy is survived by her beloved son, Kenneth Calabria; sister, Charlene Albino; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as her partner, Rick Jones. She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Jones; father, Charles J. Beach; sister Karen Speakman; and brothers Charles R. Beach and Joseph C. Beach.

A celebration of life occurred on September 26, 2026 in Ocklawaha, Florida. Kathy's life was one of vibrant engagement and quiet assistance, a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew her. She is dearly missed.
