Lou Anne Adams, 93, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 18, 2026. She was born March 1, 1932 to George and Katharine Swing, in Wilmington, Ohio, but was brought up in Shelbyville, Tennesssee, where she met and married her late husband of 62 years, Robert Adams. They relocated to Ocala, Florida where they raised their family. Lou Anne worked for the Marion County tag office for 20 years. She maintained many wonderful friendships. After retiring, she volunteered at Monroe Regional Hospital for 18 years. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, and sisters, Virginia and Dorothy.
She, along with her husband, Bob, loved to play basketball. They were still shooting hoops well into their 80s. They won numerous medals participating in the Marion Cty. Senior Games.
Lou Anne was a faithful member of the Forever Young class at Oakcrest Baptist Church for many years.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; son, David Adams (Cindy); daughter, Laura Joyce (Bob); grandchildren, Michelle Hess (David), Jared Roeckner (Tara); great grandchildren; Emily, Sonia, Lauren, and Evan, and numerous loving nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held at Oakcrest Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 28 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:30 am.Internment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
She was a true blessing and faithful servant of God and will forever remain in our hearts. Her quiet strength, wise counsel and steadfast commitment to God’s word have been a source of encouragement.
