Margaret Calandra

Margaret Calandra, 84 passed away April 15, 2021 in Ocala, Florida.  While surrounded by all her daughters holding her hands, she was ushered into the presence of The Father.

Margaret was born in Brooklyn NY and was a loving mother who left her career to raise her children.  She returned to the workforce wearing many hats but found her passion working in Marion County Public School transportation with handicapped children until her retirement.  Margaret Calandra will always be remembered for her love and selfless nature by everyone who knew her.

She is preceded by her parents; Frederick Fochtman and Margaret Williams Fochtman, her brothers; Freddie, Leo & Cliffy Fochtman. Her loving husband of 63 years, Tony D’ Calandra, granddaughter Rebecca Wetherell and son in-law Charles Chiarelly.

She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Donna Swarbrick (Tom); Joann Chiarelly, and Lisa Sardisco (Charlie); grandchildren, Mark (Jessie), Danielle, Justin, Sheena (Dale), Joanna (Andrew), Kelly, Vanessa (Aaron), David, Shannon (Kevin), Nick; great-grandchildren, McKayla, Cole, Blake, Hannah, Adam, Gavin, Judge, Penelope, Gabe, Sophia, Noah, Evan, Liam, Lexie, Ellie, Kylie, Abbie, Rosemary.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview, Florida.
