Maude Purdy

January 14, 1928 — November 30, 2021

Maude Purdy, (93) of Ocala, FL,  formerly of Peekskill New York,  passed

peacefully at home, surrounded by love and family just as she wanted.

Maude was married to her loving husband,  Melvin H. Purdy,  for 62 years.

Maude and Melvin retired in Miami,  and moved to Ocala

in 1982.   With no original  plans to work again,  Maude ( LPN )  started

working at Munroe Hospital in Ocala  (  Today is called Advent Hospital ),

and Melvin started working for the Marion County School  Board.

This was no surprise,  given the work ethic and values they held.

They continued working until 1995,  and retired again.

Maude was an extremely giving and amazing person and a blessing

to all who knew her. Maude was very active at her church,

Ocklawaha Baptist Church, for 20 years, with her sister Olive Heffner.

She is preceded in death by her parents,

George and Violet Haight and daughter, Barbara Lemire,

Sister, Viola Kent; Niece, Jane Freeman

She is survived by her son, Ronald M. Purdy; brother, Charles N. Haight;

Nieces, Monica Heffner, Ginny Keller and nephew, George Heffner.

As well as two grandchildren, DeeDee Pettis and Ronnie Purdy.

A small family service was held on November 6, 2021,  at Countryside

Funeral Home in Anthony, Fl. to celebrate her wonderful life.
