Citra, Florida - Patti Gennicks, age 65, passed away on November 18, 2023, in Citra, Florida. She was born on June 20, 1958, in Mishawka, Indiana, to the late John David Matheney Sr and Carolyn Hall. Patti was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband, Randy Gennicks, her daughters Chasity Gennicks and Brandy Gennicks, and her grandchildren Madison Edmonson, Zachary Edmonson, Haley Francis, and Reagan Edmonson. She is also survived by her sisters Devina Matheney, Ruth Gaby (Edward), Dollie Matheney, Lorriane Matheney, and Linda Makielski (Tom), as well as several nieces and nephews. Patti was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her brother Johnny David Matheney Jr.

 

Patti attended Penn High School and went to have a successful career at Sun Communities as an Assistant General Resort Manager at Sun Retreats Ocala Orange Lake. During her time there, she exemplified the true spirit of teamwork, leadership, and community. Patti was known for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, creativity, and loving nature.  She took great pride in her work and enjoyed engaging in prank wars with her boss, Toby Sass.

 

In her free time, Patti enjoyed walking on the beach, spending time with her grandchildren, dancing, participating in activities such as Wine & Canvas. She was a lifetime member of various clubs including VFW, Moose lodge, Ring club and the famous rent a friend club.

 

A viewing will be held on Sunday December 3rd,2023 from 1pm-4pm, followed by a service at 4pm at VFW 360 located at 1307 East Jefferson Blvd., Mishawaka, IN 46545. Patti will be cremated. Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, Florida is assisting with the arrangements. 

 

Patti Gennicks will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.  Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy of kindness and love will live on.
