Philip Barry Lewis, age 77, of Ft. McCoy, Florida, passed away on May 8, 2025. He was born on July 31, 1947, in Glens Falls, New York, a son of William and Hildreth Lewis.
He is preceded by his parents and an infant grandson, William Palmer.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; wife, Alice Lewis; son Philip and wife Laynie, a daughter, Elizabeth and husband Corey Palmer. A sister, Linda Lou Graber. Several grandchildren; Aaron and Joshua Jacobs, Justin, Ethan and Sadie Lewis. And Lovisa, Corey and Philip Palmer. Also several cousins, neices and nephews.
He organized a band and played in school and several business establishments. Soon after graduating he joined the Army and was honorably discharged due to an injury.
He loved dirt track modifieds and Nascar racing. Also using his artistic talents, he painted and lettered several modified and sprint cars as well as many business signs over the years, supporting his business "SONRISE SIGNS" He was an avid "MASH" and "James Bond" fan, and loves spending time with family.
He was a born-again believer and enjoyed sharing his daily sermonettes on Facebook with his friends and family.
Philip worked in several careers over the years including ER orderly, Restaurants manager/ line cook. Taxi cab driver, and Caregiver.
In 2011 he moved his family to Ft Mc Coy, Florida where he and his wife co-managed a small hobby farm until his death.
A memorial service will be pending at First Baptist church of Ft Mc Coy by Pastor Jeffery May. Time and date to be announced at a future date.
