Raymond Harvey Waldron

January 13, 1947 – August 10th, 2025

Raymond Harvey Waldron, affectionately known as Ray, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on August 10th, 2025 at the age of 78. Born on January 13, 1947, in Ocala, Ray was a proud Florida boy who cherished the outdoors and found great joy in fishing, boating, and soaking up the Florida sun. He had an affection for Rottweilers and a passion for the open road, often enjoying long rides on his motorcycle. Ray enjoyed watching college football and cheering on his favorite team, the Florida State Seminoles, and he loved spending time on the golf course, whether playing a round with friends or perfecting his swing. Additionally, he earned a black belt in Shorin Ryu karate, a testament to his discipline and determination.

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army after being drafted to Vietnam, where he served from 1966 to 1968. Following his military service, Ray built a career in road construction, working for several companies including Ranger Construction, Marion Paving, Martin Paving, and Cubert Inc. He took great pride in his work, contributing to the infrastructure of his community with the same dedication he brought to all aspects of his life.

Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy Waldron; sister-in-law, Betty Branson; and his daughters Sonya Waldron, Gwyndolyn Waldron Willix and her husband Scott Willix, and Rachel Waldron. He also leaves behind grandchildren Devon and her husband Jesse Peters; Presley and her husband Aaron Rogers; Dakota Phillips; Noah Phillips; Leah, Gavin, and Alana Aufdenberg; and Dylan and Blake Waldron. He was blessed with eight great-grandchildren and is remembered affectionately by many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Davis; father, William Harvey Waldron; and siblings, Lewis William Branson; Mary Louise Branson Gulick; John Harry Branson; Donald Franklin Branson; Betty Ann Branson Murphy; William Spencer Branson; William Harvey Waldron Jr; Alfred Donald Waldron; and Barton Sherwood Waldron. Ray was known for his sharp wit, honesty, and unmistakable sense of humor. He was a man of strong convictions, known for always speaking his mind. He loved his family and friends, and brought energy, laughter, and authenticity to every moment shared with him. He was a man of faith who enjoyed attending church and took great comfort in his Christian beliefs.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Comfort Keepers Home Care in Ocala and Cornerstone Hospice in Marion County for their compassionate care and support during Ray’s final days.
