Rev. Donald Keith Newkirk

Jun 11, 1963 — Jul 27, 2026

Rev. Donald Keith Newkirk, 63, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, while surrounded by his family. He was born June 11, 1963, the son of Lewis and Joyce Newkirk.

Don’s love of classic cars was only surpassed by his love for his family, animals, and his service to God, having spent most of his life preaching the gospel in churches across Appalachia. Whether repairing a dent on a Chrysler Cordoba or performing baptisms in a lake, Don spent his time helping others maintain their earthly vessels with care and dedication.

On the first page of his Bible, the same well-worn book he’d carried to pulpits and bedsides throughout his life, he had written a quote that defined his calling:

“The quality of one’s life is determined not by its duration, but by its donation.”

Don leaves behind a legacy of devotion, humor, and love, and will be sorely missed by the countless lives he enriched.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Newkirk, and his son, Zachery Newkirk.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Newkirk; son, Greg Newkirk; daughter, Katie Campbell; son, Nicholas Newkirk; grandchildren, Riley and Ellie Campbell; sister, Wendie Newkirk; and mother, Joyce Newkirk.

Countryside has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
