Fort McCoy – Ronald Lamar Shelfer Sr., 66, passed away January 9, 2016. Born January 20, 1949 in Winter Haven, Florida, to Herman Anderson Shelfer and Nelda Jeanne Ricks. He was a Master Carpenter in contracting. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Loretta A. Ahrens Shelfer; son, Ronald Lamar Shelfer Jr. (Carolyn); daughter, Meloney L. Desena (Ken); brother, Don Shelfer, Tim Shelfer, Andy Shelfer; sister, Brenda Hetman and grandchildren, Austin and Alexis Shelfer, and Shane and Cortney Desena. A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Shelfer residence. Interment will be private in Fort McCoy Cemetery.
