Scott Eugene Kelley, age 63, of Weirsdale, Florida, passed away suddenly on March 22, 2026. He was born on July 17, 1962, to Mary and Ira Jack Kelley in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Scott leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Barber, MD; his two sons, Ryan Kelley (Lorin) and Troy Kelley (Sarah); and his daughter, Shaye Kelley. He will also be deeply missed by his stepchildren: Mark Stoner; Patrick Stoner, DO (Samantha); Rebecca Thornhill, MD (Christopher); Julia Barr (Robert); and Sarah Clark (Gavin), as well as his 18 grandchildren.
Scott proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After being honorably discharged, he returned to college later in life and attended the University of Florida, where he earned his engineering degree. He later returned to his alma mater to complete his Master of Business degree. He spent most of his career as the Practice Administrator for the Skin Cancer Center of Central Florida.
After retiring, Scott and his wife fell in love with Blue Ridge, Georgia. When Mary returned to work, she desired to work with the underserved population of North Georgia. Scott helped establish another dermatology practice for her, The Skin Cancer Center of North Georgia.
Scott loved Lake Weir and spent much of his time there working in his shop, boating on the lake, enjoying The Villages squares, and visiting with family. He also found great joy and community through his Bible study and worship services at “The Barn.” His very sad dog, Buck, will miss him dearly.
A service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. There will be a viewing at the church at 3:00 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m. A reception will be held afterward at the King of Kings building next door.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Brothers Keeper or Interfaith are suggested.
