Sheriff Don Moreland

Sheriff Don Richard Moreland, age 90, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on November 6, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1935, in Dawson, Georgia, a son of Lee and Ella Moreland.

He is preceded by; wife, Anita Moreland; son, Kyle Moreland.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; sons, Lee Moreland, Richard Moreland; daughters, Ann Moreland, Donna Jones, Cathy Thomas (Danny), Glenna Smith; grandchildren, Tyler, Rosalie, Krystal, Eric, Kimberly, Kourtney, and Kylie; and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Ocala with visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch (Live Oak), the Humane Society of Marion County, and/or the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
