Vernie L. Corbett

Vernie L. Corbett passed away at his home in Driggs, Idaho at the age of 93 on April 5, 2026.

He was born in Clinch County, Georgia April 17, 1932. Vernie Grew up in Jacksonville Florida. He married Loretta Whittingon. Together they raised their family in Gainesville, Florida. Later they lived in Micanopy, Florida and eventually retired there.

He served in the National Guard for seventeen years. He was the owner of Corbett's Automated Business Machines. Vernie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings.

Vernie is preceded in death by his son Byron C. Corbett, grandson Cole Ara Corbett and a great-granddaughter Maylee Noel Holder.

Vernie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Loretta Corbett, son Barry (Kelly) Corbett, Daughter Bretta (Kirk) Ripplinger, daughter-in-law Colleen Corbett, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Flemington Cemetery in Flemington, Florida on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1 p.m.
