Walter E. Marin

Walter E. Marin, age 77 of Key West, Florida passed away unexpectedly on August 23rd 2026 in Ocala, Florida.

He was born April 7th 1949 in Moron, Camaguey, Cuba. His family immigrated to the States on March 17th 1958 coming into the port of Key West. Son of Walter and Blanca Marin. He was preceded in death by his parents, father Walter D. Marin and his mother Blanca Ramos Marin, his younger brother Jorge Antonio "Georgie" Marin and his infant grandson Freddy Paz, and Enelda Marin (mother of Scotty and Karina). 

He is survived by his children, Walter Scott "Scotty" Marin, daughter Karina Lizabeth Marin ( Marco) and daughter Amanda Marie Kraus (Steve). Grandchildren Troy, Aryanna, Marco, Gabriella, Ayla, McKenna and Lincoln. Sisters Diana Marin, Rebecca Marin and Marlen Marin, niece Bianca Ruffner (Brian) and her four children and nephew Jose Enrique Marin (Yamelis) and son. 

Walter was raised in Key West, worked in his father's flooring business for 13 years then Fausto's Food Palace for 16 years working his way up to produce manager, he then moved to Ocala, Florida in the early 2000s and worked at Albertsons until he retired. 

Walter never knew a stranger, everybody was his friend. He was known for his goofy sense of humor and his capacity to love with his whole heart. He reconnected with many of his Conch friends in Ocala. He loved his dogs, especially his current one Rambo and his cockatiels. He loved baseball (his beloved Yankees ... since a young boy) and his Miami Dolphins. 

He leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends ... a void that will never be filled. His services and interment will be held in his beloved Key West at a later date. We that were blessed to have you in our lives will love you forever and know we will see you again.
