Wanda was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, friend, mother, and grandmother. She was very creative and "artful" from early on, especially in painting, and her culinary abilities. Wanda spent a lot of time with her niece, Sandra, whom she considered a little sister. Many hours spent together antiquing, container gardening, cooking, and doing crafts together. She and Rodney made sure that their children enjoyed every activity that they wanted to experience, including mountain bike racing, and English-style horseback riding. Her grandchildren have experienced that same devotion to the enriching of their lives. Known as "Nana" by all of the grandchildren, they fondly recall Nana preparing crafts that all of the grandchildren could have fun working on together. It was "never boring" at Nana's House, and there were many sleep-overs, where all of the grands got to be together, have fun with Nana and Papa, and build that bond of family and friendship between them. Wanda worked very hard to make sure that the Family Bond got the time and attention it deserved. She also taught the older ones how to cook, bake, sew... all the things.

Granddaughter Emily summed up the sentiments of all of the grands perfectly: "Yesterday, the Lord called my sweet Nana home. While I know Heaven gained a beautiful angel, I can't help but wish I had just a little more time with her. No matter how many years we had, it never would have been enough. Nana, thank you for loving me. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the comfort, and the countless ways you made my life better simply by being in it. You were one of the strongest, kindest, and most loving people I have ever known, and I am so blessed to have been your granddaughter. I love you more than you'll ever know, Nana. Thank you for being such an important part of my life. Rest peacefully until we meet again in Heaven."

Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
