WARREN HENRY, 85
Ocala - Warren Henry Otto, 85, of Ocala, FL entered into eternal peace on February 20, 2015. He was born on November 28, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY. Warren was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He traveled the world's oceans while working for Standard Oil Co. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army in the CIC Division. He was a Captain in the NYC Fire Department, and retired after twenty years of distinguished service.
Over the years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and became a Master Gardener in Marion County. He was also a longtime member of the Bay Ridge Masonic Lodge 758 of Brooklyn, NY. He was a civilian representative of the L.E.P.C Withlacoochee Planning Commission, and a member of the Marion County Sheriffs Auxiliary Unit. As retired N.Y.F.D., he was involved with the 911 Memorial: 343 Group. For years, he supported environmental causes in North Florida, and was also a member of the Florida Speleological Society.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marilyn Otto; two daughters, Jessica Otto and Jennifer Zedalis; four grandchildren, Zoe, Sophia, Matthew, and Benjamin.
Memorial Service will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a service starting at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Road, Anthony, FL, 32617. A private burial will be later. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
