Watson Manchester Sylvester Joseph went to be with his heavenly master on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. He was born on September 30, 1955, in St. John’s, Antigua, W.I. to Agatha and Atwell Joseph. He was the Chief Financial Officer at Suncom Industries in Northumberland, PA, for many years and held several other positions in accounting and business administration during his career. Watson was a fully accredited local preacher in his home country of Antigua, as well as an Organist and Music Director at churches in New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida. He sang on and directed several choirs, and founded the Ecumenical Chorale in Sunbury, PA.
In all of his positions, and everywhere he went, he ministered to the souls of everyone he met. Though he wanted to be a pastor in his youth, he realized that he didn’t need a collar to be a servant of God; he was a minister in his own way. He wore many hats, but none better than being a loving, devoted family man: a Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife: Gloria; children: Jason, Kristen, and Justin; brothers: Peterson, Keithley, Matthias, and Bolton; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Watson’s memorial service will take place on Friday, March 25, at 2:00 p.m. at Ocala First United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
