William Faulkner

February 14, 1937 — March 3, 2015

FAULKNER, WILLIAM GORDON PAUL, 78
Ft. McCoy - William 'Bill' Gordon Paul Faulkner, died peacefully in Ft. McCoy, FL on March 3, 2015 at the age of 78.
Bill was born on February 14, 1937 in Toronto, Ontario. He graduated from Danforth Technical School and entered the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Cadet Fighter Pilot. He soon moved his young family to Boynton Beach, FL with a dream of designing, building and living on a trimaran, the 'Frenesi', even bringing a second son aboard. He sold his first of fifteen patents to Flexsteel and began a career in the submarine industry. His final career path would be plastic modular belting, leading to the start of Falcon Belting Inc. At the age of 61, the 'Belt Master' retired and moved back to Florida to build, 'Sunday Morning' and sail his days away.
He was an avid designer, sailor, world traveler, story teller, and ladies' man that excelled at living, no matter the circumstance. His children will remember him as the smartest man with a silly and witty sense of humor and loads of charisma. He encouraged each of them to be themselves and try new things, all the while shamelessly picking on them and anyone else he cared for. From the time he was born, he loved attention and excelled at never losing a game of competitive sickness.
Bill is survived by his four children, Michael Faulkner, John Faulkner, Lea Faulkner, and Eva Henslee (Chris). He is also survived by his sisters Bonita Nolan (Bill), Teresa Pamenter (David), Jacqueline McTavish, and Sandra Bodfish (George), affectionately known by their mother, as 'Billy and the girls.' He is also survived by a very long list of extended family, friends, and former colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Daisy Faulkner, his first wife Jacqueline Williams, and long time companion Maria Haeffner.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his honor to: Jupiter Lighthouse at Loxahatchee River Historical Society, Attn: Finance Dept, 500 Captain Amours Way, Jupiter, FL 33469. The family is especially grateful for the staff of Hospice of Marion County East Division.
