William Gilford Herring, III.

William Gilford Herring III, age 72 , of Anthony, Florida, passed away on March 28, 2024. He was born on August 8, 1951, in Richmond, California, a son of William and Dolores Herring.

He was also well known as Chaplin Gil Herring.

He is preceded by;his father, William G. Herring, Jr.; sisters, Joanne and Judy; nephew, Erik Schwarm.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; wife, Bernice Forrester; son, William G. Herring IV; daughter, Darcy Herring; sister, Deborah Rivard (Pete); brother, Dale Herring (Denise); grandchildren, Rebecca Geno, Destani Herring, Alexander Herring, Genia Herring and Tobias Herring; nieces and nephews, Pierre Rivard, Cherie Allen, Greyson Allen, Nicole Jolly, Crystal Burke (James), Roberta Jolly, Lance Herring, Melissa Hofacre, Randi Herring, Chantal Berube, Kristian Yates, Autumn Jolly, Brooke Jolly; great grandchildren, Jessenya Herring, Tayvin Herring, Stormie Blanes, Rory Blanes and one on the way; numerous great nieces and nephews and a lot of family and friends back in California.

His dear mother followed him to heaven only four days after his passing on April 2, 2024, along with her second husband, Virgil Backlund who passed away only twenty minutes following her passing that same day.

The cremation arrangements have been entrusted with Countryside Funeral Home.
