Fort McCoy

Fort McCoy – Bruce MacKenzie, 87, passed away March 19, 2021. He was born May 12,
1933, in Pontiac, MI to the late Harold and Christina MacKenzie. He was an automotive
engineer who graduated from Lawrence Technology University in Southfield Michigan.
Bruce retired from Chrysler Corporation. After moving to Florida in the early 70’s, Bruce
spent time on his farm in Fort McCoy. He was excellent at fixing anything, including the
many cars he restored. Bruce loved “teaching moments” with his children and
grandchildren showing them how to keep their cars running, saving for the future, as
well as, home maintenance. He was a life-long member of the Anglican Church. He
attended Christ the King Anglican Church in Ocala.
Bruce is proceeded in death of his wife of 63 years, Ann MacKenzie. He is survived by
his three sons, Steve MacKenzie (Phyllis), Russell MacKenzie and William MacKenzie
(Wanda); sister, Joanne McKay (Jerry); and four grandchildren, Matthew MacKenzie,
Sarah MacKenzie, Will MacKenzie and Taylor MacKenzie.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm, on April 5, 2021 at Christ the King Anglican
Church in Ocala, with the Reverend Donald J. Curran, Jr. officiating.  The internment at
the church will follow the service.
