Darin Lance Johnson passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 holding his daughters’ hands. He fought a six month battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was 55 years old.
Darin was born on January 5, 1965 in Ocala, Florida; a fifth generation Floridian. He was born to father, David Johnson and mother, Joyce Cochran.
He loved nature and spent his life learning and exploring the land. He was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman with many wildlife stories to share and tell. He was a talented craftsman and could build anything with his hands. He was a believer in Christ and showed his love for the Lord by his kindness and willingness to always help others.
Darin was a devoted husband to his late wife, Helen Johnson. He was an exceptional father to his two daughters, Kimberlee Gerber and Sallye Perkins. He was a father figure to his son in laws, Kelly Gerber and Curtis Perkins. He loved his grandson, Jaxson Gerber and looked forward to meeting his unborn granddaughter in October. Darin was a loving brother to his siblings Rhonda, Cheryl, Kristen, Amy and Austin who he deeply cherished. He was an adventurous uncle to his nieces, Krista, Caitlyn, Lydia and Lillian and his nephew, Brandon. He will deeply be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date.
