Fought a long hard battle with cancer.

Dot began her working life at Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph CO. in Jacksonville, Florida.  She was eventually transferred to Miami, where she met her husband, John (Bill) W. Franklin.  However, after having children, she was a homemaker the rest of her life.

She married John William (Bill) Franklin in 1956.  Bill preceded Dot to heaven in 2013.  She is survived by three children, Janice Gail Cathey (husband, Tom Cathey), Colorado Springs, CO, John William Franklin Jr. (wife, Lois Franklin), Pensacola, FL, and Edward Lane Franklin (wife, Lori Franklin), Kansas City, KS.  She had eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Dot is also survived by her sister, Patsy Canetta of Tallahassee, FL and brother, Russell Smith of Flat Creek, FL

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL. She will be laid to rest on Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
