Ocala - Mary Elizabeth Rowell, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 10, 2020. She was born April 26, 1956, in Bronx, New York, to Kenneth Edward Post , Sr. and Margaret Patricia King.
Mary was the second child of five children, but the only girl. Mary learned to give to others and to share her heart with others about Jesus. Mary was deeply passionate about teaching children. Because of this, she worked as a pre-school teacher for Head Start, Oakcrest East Child Care Center, and Central Christian Learning Center for many years. Mary was popular to the children she taught for her green colored milk on St. Patrick’s Day.
Mary attended Visitation Catholic School and graduated from Miami Norland Senior High in 1974. Mary was an active member of Christ Church of Marion County.
She is survived by her son, Duane Wilson (Kara); daughter, Crystal Dugan (Todd); brothers, Kenneth Post Jr., William (Bill) Post, Peter Post; four grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother (Margaret Post), father (Kenneth Post Sr.) and brother (Joseph Post).
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00am located at Christ Church of Marion County with Pastor David Bellows. Christ Church of Marion County is located at 6768 SW 80th Street, Ocala, Florida 34476. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Mary Rowell.
