Ronnie married Sharon on October 24, 1968. They met while working on the Thomas Joyland Carnival. Ronnie was a ride operator while Sharon sold tickets. It didn't take long for the two to become inseparable. They decided to settle down in Ocala, Fl, and help raise Sharon's four younger siblings.  On July 24th, 1976 their first Child a baby girl was born, Tammy Joy Adkins. Only a few years later on the same day July 24, 1979, they were blessed with a son Ronnie Gene Adkins Jr. Ronnie was a hard worker, who did years of manual labor. He was an amazing mechanic who love to work with his hands. So it was only natural that he found himself working on the local farms as a maintenance man, mowing and working on the equipment. His last job he really loved. It was at Miller Marine, which surround him with boats and fishing talk. Ronnie had a love for fishing and would drag anybody that wanted to go with him. We are all fishers because of him. It's no surprise to most that Ronnie had a love for Nascar, he even flagged for the races.  No matter when or how you met Ronnie he was sure to have an impact on your life. So every time you cast your reel, pop your car hood, see a checkered flag, or walk into your local Walmart. Remember to think of Ronnie.
