Sheris Coggins

Sheris “Sherry” Coggins, passed away December 12, 2020 at her home in Ocala,Fl.  Sherry was born on July 16, 1931 to Robert and Thelma (Duford) Laird in Flint MI.  On August 12, 1950 she married Louis Coggins, they had six children; Christine and husband Steven Corcoran of S. Glastonbury CT; Gary and wife Eve of  Charles Town WV; Susan and husband Lee of Harpers Ferry WV; Cheryl and husband Randy of Gaylord MI;  Sandy and husband Daniel of Ocklawaha FL; and Jeanette and husband Micheal of Orlando FL

She is survived by her husband Lou, her six children, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Effie Ringler; and many nieces and nephews.  She predeceased by her brother Richard Laird and her parents.

Sherry and her husband co-owned Beechwood Greens golf course in Mt. Morris, MI; she also worked alongside her parents at Laird’s ceramics.

Sherry developed at passion for hospice after the special care her niece Paula received. Sherry, actively volunteered at the Hospice thrift stores for 17 years, and was known at Hospice as “the book lady”.

A celebration of Sherry’s life will take place at a date and time not yet determined.
